Ever been in a “Funk” over something RP related? It’s not uncommon! This condition can be frustrating, exhausting, and downright depressing at times … BUT with a little guidance from the RP “Truths” master herself, you’ll be feeling back to normal sooner rather than later! ;) As most of you know, I’ve had RP my entire life. These past two years have been an extremely LONG rollercoaster ride that I wish I could just get off of – do I have any RP friends who feel my pain?! A few months ago my mom taught me a simple but effective trick that has helped me out tremendously when it comes to dealing with the ups and downs of RP… so what is it you ask? Using our 5 senses. Huh?! Let me explain… Whenever I start feeling really down, or wanting to go crawl into a pillow cave, I make myself use the 5 senses rule. Here’s how it works: We all have our 5 senses (some work better than others as we all know ;p), and EACH of those 5 senses have their own way of making us feel happy. The goal of this exercise is to choose 5 activities you enjoy, and that relate to each of your 5 senses.

For example:

Hearing – I love listening to the ocean waves, and although I don’t live close by, I can listen to them via Spotify!

Sight – I enjoy watching the lit up water fountains at a place near where I live, it makes me feel like I’m on vacation!

Touch – Bath bombs calm me almost instantly (LUSH ladies… LUSH!) and I love the way they make my skin feel!

Smell – Candles are my go to for calming down, and they smell good too!

Taste - You can’t go wrong with fresh baked cookies… am I right OR am I right?!?!

After doing all 5 activities, I feel 10x better, and am able to press the reset button once more. Give it a go, and comment below on what you have planned for your 5 senses activities! (Picture is of a lifeguard tower. A little random... but felt it was a good fit. The RP community acts as a lifeguard, making sure the waves don't take any of its members too far out to sea, and always offers support, love, and above all, understanding.)
